How it works

One place for a whole trip: who is going, how you get there, where you sleep, what it costs and what you do each day.

What Domolytics Travel is

Planning a trip leaves pieces everywhere: a flight confirmation in one mailbox, a hotel booking in another, a car voucher as a PDF, prices in a chat and ideas in a notes app. Domolytics Travel is a free tool that puts those pieces into one trip.

You enter each booking once. From then on the trip adds up its own costs, builds its own timeline and draws its own map. Nothing is booked or paid through the site — it keeps the record of what you booked elsewhere.

A trip, step by step

  1. Create the trip

Give the trip a name, its dates, the countries you visit and the currency you think in. Then choose who is travelling from your contacts. The trip page shows all of it at a glance, with a count for every part.

  2. Add the flights

A booking holds its reference, its flights, its passengers and extras such as bags or seats. Each flight shows both airports, the times and the time difference from home. A confirmation email can be imported instead of typed.

  3. Add the places to stay

A stay is a hotel, an apartment or a house, with its address, dates and booking reference. Each room has its own dates, guests, board, price and cancellation terms, so two rooms in one hotel stay two separate lines.

  4. Add a rental car

The pick-up and return offices and times, the insurance, the fuel and cancellation terms and the deposit. The price is a list of lines — rental, child seat, one-way fee. On the road you can log the odometer and each fueling, and the page works out the distance and the fuel consumption.

  5. Follow the expenses

Flights, rooms and cars add their cost to the expenses by themselves. You add the rest — meals, tickets, taxis — by category. Every line is planned, due or paid, so the page shows what was spent, what is still owed and the total, in your currency.

  6. Plan the days and see them on a map

The plan is a list of days. Each entry has a time, a place and a note. Flights and check-ins appear in it on their own. Every place with a location is a pin on the map, coloured by kind, and the map can show one day at a time.

  7. Take the itinerary with you

The itinerary is the trip as one timeline: flights and stays in order. It can be printed, saved as a PDF or a spreadsheet, or shared by link with someone who has no account. A whole trip can also be shared with another user, to view or to edit.

Three example trips

These trips are examples. The people, the hotels and the bookings are invented; the cities and the sights are real. One trip is over, one is under way and one is still ahead, so you can see how a trip looks at each stage. Open any of them and look around — every page is the real one, only nothing can be changed.
